Mark founded the MWek Company after an earlier career in the Probation Service spent rehabilitating the most dangerous offenders in the UK (a natural segue into recruitment). He is building the MWek Company based on the principles of being kind to everyone whom we work with and by being experts in our market, able to find talent others simply can’t. MWek are aiming to become the go-to business globally for FinTech and Technology firms and we are enjoying the ride.
Director, Business Manager
Thyra is The MWek Company Business Manager and superstar who runs things behind the scenes. Before working at The MWek Company Thyra had worked within the Banking sector for 20 years within the Front Office, Middle Office and latterly Operations. This has given Thyra the ability to manage Client Service, Onboarding, streamlining, creating process and operating efficiency. Outside work, Thyra enjoys being outside going for walks with her family.
Aj traded EM rates at JPMorgan and then sold credit analytics to the EM buyside. He holds degrees in Maths and Financial Economics. At The MWek Company, Aj recruits salespeople at all levels into firms that provide financial data, risk and trading solutions. Please forgive him if he makes Star Wars references when you meet him for a coffee.
Director, Technology Lead
An ex-Rugby Player and History graduate of the University of Manchester, Robert has 17 years’ experience in Financial Services Recruitment, mostly within Technology and Regulatory Change. Robert specifically enjoys working with Fintech, Blockchain and RegTech firms and enjoys connecting the right individuals with the right roles. After 6 years as a Senior Client Services Partner for a boutique Financial Services Consultancy, Robert joined The MWek Company as the Head of Technology as they matched his ambition, drive and passion for business development and client satisfaction. Robert is the best looking member of MWek by some considerable distance.
GCC Lead Crypto Headhunter
A tenacious finance, fintech, emerging technology consultant with passions for business development, blockchain technology, financial markets, football and Formula1. Skilled in growing strong working relationships through questioning, understanding and negotiation, partnering up with professionals working in start-ups to major index listed corporations across all industries. Justin has been involved with Cryptocurrencies for 6 years now, built mining rigs and previously part of an ERC20 development team. With the middle east looking to be the global hub for Digital Assets, DeFi and Crypto, there is not a more enthusiastic headhunter out there within this space.
I spent a decade working for a leading global IT recruitment firm specialising in temporary recruitment. Initially focussed on Financial Services but more recently on the eCommerce, Online & Retail space. For me It’s about working with a client as a strategic partner. Throughout my career the top pain I’ve heard from customers was staffing firms didn’t understand their business and so they would struggle to attract and retain top talent. I want to work with a customer to understand their business so I can partner with them taking a consultative approach in order to provide proactive workforce planning and delivery. Roles I cover - Data - Big Data, Date Science, Database Engineers etc.. Cloud & DevOps - AWS, Azure, GCP etc... Core Infrastructure - Servers, Virtualisation, Storage, Backup etc... Prior to recruitment Iman was a music artist, writing, recording and touring her own material. She has also written songs that have entered the charts and recorded with International pop stars. However, she soon decided all of that simply wasn’t cool enough and recruitment came knocking. Since joining recruitment Iman has built a credible network within the SaaS Financial Services and Public sector space and really enjoys the human element that considered recruiting entails. It’s all about the longer term approach for her, every placement she has made has been an incredibly rewarding experience and staying in close touch with her candidates and developing relationships is something she prides herself on
Tobi studied Law at the University of Bristol and spent some time in investment research before launching his own business, creating a range of home fragrance from scratch. After 3 years of selling candles into boutique high street stores, Tobi then decided to pursue a career in recruitment. Having spent a year within legal recruitment, placing lawyers in the City, Tobi then decided to pair his personal interest in digital assets with his passion for recruitment and joined The M-Wek Company to do so. Tobi has a keen interest in digital assets having been personally investing in cryptocurrency for the last 5 years. In his spare time, you can find him playing rugby, creating art or cooking a flavoursome dish from a new cuisine.
Head of Innovation & projects in Crypto & FinTech
Antony joins The M-Wek Company with a wealth of experience within the Compliance and Risk markets from a Management consultancy, sales, and Recruitment view. Antony has carved out a large presence in the Crypto space by helping companies through authorisation, MLRO support, and sales, and with this experience, The M-Wek Company will be entering the Managed Service space with outsourced offerings for the Emerging technology space including Crypto and FinTech. Innovation and development are a huge part of what makes The M-Wek company the leading consultancy in this space and Antony will help drive this to better serve our clients and partners.
Prior to joining recruitment, Sarah studied Business Management at Queen Mary. This was followed with seven years of Residential Property lettings across London. The experience of building long term relationships and working within a fast-paced environment really laid the foundations for a career within Contract Technology & Finance Recruitment. M-Wek has allowed Sarah to not only work amongst a fantastic team, but also with some really interesting roles. Sarah enjoys socialising, visiting new places as well as watching movies and documentaries.
Kindy spent the last two years as an assistant to some of the best recruiters in the city at The M-Wek Company. During this period, she gained experience in candidate searching, CRM management, recruitment administration and diary management. This experience, coupled with her passion for helping people has laid a strong foundation for a career in recruitment, in particular Crypto and Tech Recruitment. Fun Fact: Kindy is also a self-taught make-up artist!
Kerry is the M-Wek Company’s Executive Assistant. Before working at the M-Wek Company, Kerry worked within the Banking sector for 20 + years. Kerry provides vital assistance across the company, helping her colleagues to achieve their goals. Prior to working in the Banking sector Kerry attended a prestigious Stage School. If you have TV Gold her face will often pop up in old episodes of very popular TV shows. She may have also been in a pop band…..!
